Design Team Challenge
Whilst the weather seems to be undecided and keeps dipping it's toes into autumn I am definitely feeling like autumn!
This week faced with an anything goes challenge from Through the Craft Room Door I headed to the very autumn like stamps in Issue 87 of Creative Stamping. Like most crafters it takes me a while to get round to using the stamps contained in the magazine and this set was all about wildlife and hints of autumn. Combining the challenge with creating a birthday card for a friend who is nuts about wildlife. I always try and create a card that relates to some part of their personality or hobbies as it certainly makes it more special.
My working process always begins with working out how it looks and then the mechanics of how to achieve what I have imagined. Guess I spend more time planning which reduces the dithering I do during the execution.
The autumnal background was achieved by blending and layering Distress Inks; Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Dried Marigold, Tea Dye and Vintage Photo.
The foliage was then inked using Versa Colour, Fresh Green. And the sentiments were stamped using Versa Fine, Onyx Black.
I had intended to pencil colour the images but when I removed the masks I felt the contrast actually gave the card more depth so decided against it.
I am hopeful that the design will be received well and hope that you enjoyed my post. Have a great week.
Lovely card as always Lisa

Cette carte est magnifique. Une excellente idée de mettre ces adorables animaux : Renard, hérisson et écureuil.
J'adore !
